Chrome, a browser from Google!
Basically Google are releasing a browser based on WebKit. It’s due for release under windows tomorrow. They have a cool comic promoting it that you can read here. The comic promotes some interesting idea’s and I really look forward to trying this one out.
It’s an interesting move, is there space in the market for yet another browser? I don’t look forward to yet another browser to test that for sure. None the less, it is quite an interesting move by Google and I look forward to seeing how it develops.
There is loads of coverage on this building up fast. Here are links to some good stuff;

Try out this one: http://goit-postal.blogspot.com/2008/09/chrome-first-little-test-with-highly.html - the resumee is that Google luanches it for its own apps, because the browser is lightning fast on pages that massively user Javascript and AJAX.

A bit of a self plug there Georgi! But yeah, your right its designed to be lightening fast at Ajax/JavaScript applications. Not JUST Google’s app though, but they are of course thinking of their own work.

i downloaded google chrome. I launched the browser,and I get an application initialization error. I am using XP Pro SP2. This is horrible on the day of the release. Even though it is beta, it should work as promised.

Of course you are right Mike. However this is exactly the purpose of a Beta to test it on as many systems as possible. You are the first person I’ve heard from to have a problem so there must be something specific with your set-up that causes the problem.
I don’t think Google made any promises that it would work on every single computer. I also am in XP Pro with SP2.
